It's playoff time, and Mundelein had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Buffalo Grove Bison get on the board and left with  a   6-0  victory  on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 15 matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Not much got past  Sophia Zepeda, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Buffalo Grove off the board. Zepeda has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Kieley Tomas was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last four games she's  played.
Mundelein is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Buffalo Grove,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 14-17.
 Coming up, Mundelein is taking a road trip to  take on Stevenson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their  21st straight  victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Buffalo Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
