The Centennial Stars have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Independence by a score of 62-53 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Centennial also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2018.
Independence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Williams, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Montael Davis, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Independence, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Centennial will be playing in front of their home fans against Beechcroft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, Independence and Marion-Franklin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marion-Franklin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 377 points over their last five games.
