Burroughs is 10-0 against the Diamondbacks since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Burroughs Burros will head out on the road to challenge the Serrano Diamondbacks at 6:00 p.m. Serrano took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Burroughs, who comes in off a win.
Burroughs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-49 win over Apple Valley. The victory was just what Burroughs needed coming off of a 70-39 defeat in their prior contest.
Burroughs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cory Kent led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Brady, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Serrano's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They suffered a tough 67-43 loss at the hands of Oak Hills. While losing is never fun, Serrano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 800th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 231st).
Burroughs now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Serrano, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
Burroughs didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Diamondbacks in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burroughs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
