Hartland is 6-1 against Linden since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Hartland will be playing in front of their home fans against Linden at 4:00 p.m.
Things were looking good for Hartland after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 6-3 to Clio.
Skylar Spisz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Lucy Nelson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Linden came out on top against Brighton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won 22 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tessa Zilisch (2027) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zilisch (2027) was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Morgan Piotrovsky (2025) was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in June of 2024. Miranda Richardson (2026) was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only managed three hits.
Linden has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 30-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hartland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hartland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Linden struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hartland took their win against Linden in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-11 score. Does Hartland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Linden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
