In what's become a running theme this season, the Stratton Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 73-26 victory over Deer Trail. Stratton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sedonia Isenbart was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-5 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 32 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Clare Miltenberger, who scored 14 points along with eight steals.
Deer Trail's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Gudenkauf, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 53.8% of Deer Trail's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ally Hardwick was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Deer Trail struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Stratton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Deer Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Stratton will be playing in front of their home fans against Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Genoa-Hugo/Karval has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Deer Trail, they will head out on the road to square off against Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Byers focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
