Softball Recap: Village Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Village Christian Academy lost against Fayetteville Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Village Christian Academy Knights came up short against the Fayetteville Christian Warriors, falling 21-12. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly nine runs.

Camdon Locklear and Allison Willette stepped up to the plate in a big way. Locklear scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Willette scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave Willette a new career-high. Adelyn Armstrong was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Village Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Fayetteville Christian, they moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Village Christian Academy will square off against Northwood Temple Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood Temple Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something Village Christian Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fayetteville Christian, they will welcome Arendell Parrott Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
