The University School Preppers and the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Saturday.
University School scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against North by a score of 85-73. University School's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 61-52 victory over Brush. Given Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Brush is ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
University School's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
University School came up short against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 69-61. Can University School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
