Pinellas Park hasn't had much luck against St. Petersburg recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Pinellas Park will head out on the road to face off against St. Petersburg at 4:00 p.m. The last four games Pinellas Park has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, Pinellas Park didn't have quite enough to beat Seminole and fell 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Patriots have suffered against the Warhawks since April 5, 2019.

Dean Ross was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Pinellas Park: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Daunte Dixon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Petersburg had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-3 win. The Green Devils not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th.
Owen Landers looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.
At the plate, St. Petersburg let Brody Nelson and David Di Angelo run wild. Nelson scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Di Angelo scored three runs while going 2-for-5. Those two runs gave Nelson a new career-high. Garett Perdek was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
St. Petersburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.
Pinellas Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for St. Petersburg, their record is now 7-9-1.
Everything went Pinellas Park's way against St. Petersburg when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Pinellas Park made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pinellas Park since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
