The St. Michaels Saints will square off against the St. Mary's Ryken Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. St. Michaels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so St. Mary's Ryken's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
St. Michaels barely beat Easton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Saints blew past the Warriors 7-1 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Will Sherwood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Sherwood wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Pearson Greenwood, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Ethan Royer was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's Ryken unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Gonzaga by a score of 5-3.
Jason Gregory made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Michael, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
St. Michaels pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary's Ryken, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
St. Mary's Ryken's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. St. Michaels has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for St. Mary's Ryken, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will St. Michaels keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
St. Michaels might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from St. Mary's Ryken when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
