This season hasn't been kind to the Front Range Christian Falcons, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They suffered a rough 64-42 defeat at the hands of Dayspring Christian Academy on Tuesday. Front Range Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dayspring Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Front Range Christian had strong showings from Zach Woo, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Caleb Harms, who scored 11 points. Woo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Gold, who scored four points along with two steals.
Dayspring Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hudson Weigt led the charge by scoring 16 points. That's the first time this season that Weigt scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcclanahan, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Front Range Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 0-6. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Front Range Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Belleview Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Belleview Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will take on Bishop Machebeuf at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Machebeuf is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
