Even though Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons scored an imposing 62 points on Monday, St. Clair still came out on top. St. Clair took their contest against Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons 73-62. Given St. Clair's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Providence Academy pushed their score all the way to 80 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Maple Grove 86-80. It was the first time this season that Providence Academy let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Providence Academy saw an underclassman step up: Maddyn Greenway scored 44 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Greenway is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ari Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
St. Clair is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Providence Academy, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-4.
