Even though the Poca The Dots have not done well against the Hoover Huskies recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Poca strolled past Hoover with points to spare, taking the game 45-29. That's another feather in the cap for Poca, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hanna Moore, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Raynes, who scored 16 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Poca and bumps their season record up to 4-6. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poca will square off against Ravenswood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sissonville at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
