The Lake Stevens Vikings will take on the Jackson Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lake Stevens 3.4, Jackson 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Lake Stevens' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Cascade. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.
Cascade's batters probably weren't too happy with Luke Morris, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Morris.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aspen Alexander, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Julian Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lake Stevens lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Jackson and Glacier Peak, and Jackson kept the tradition alive. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Grizzlies 3-2.
Drew Pepin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Colby Bossert was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Clark, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Jackson's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Lake Stevens, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Lake Stevens skirted past Jackson 4-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
