The Muskogee Roughers will head out on the road to face off against the Ponca City Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponca City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Muskogee, who comes in off a win.
After only 19 points in their last contest, Muskogee made sure to put some points up on the board against Jenks on Tuesday. Muskogee simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jenks 70-29 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Muskogee as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Ponca City was the victim of a rough 61-37 loss at the hands of Broken Arrow on Friday. While losing is never fun, Ponca City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Broken Arrow is ranked 102nd).
The win got Muskogee back to even at 1-1. As for Ponca City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Muskogee didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ponca City when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win. Does Muskogee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ponca City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
