The Bunker Hill Bears will square off against the Foard Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bunker Hill, who comes in off a win.
Foard will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Bunker Hill extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over Newton-Conover. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Lila Spears made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kyra Ryhal was incredible, firing off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Alexis Stuebe was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Foard was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to East Lincoln. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Foard fell to 7-1. As for Bunker Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Everything went Bunker Hill's way against Foard in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Bunker Hill made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
