Baseball Recap: Mineral Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Western Reserve

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral Ridge). They blew past the Western Reserve Blue Devils 14-7 on Friday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

AJ Sandy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ethan Vestorsky also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mineral Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mineral Ridge and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Western Reserve, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
