Oceanside Collegiate Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They snuck past the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada with a 58-53 win. That's more bragging rights for the Landsharks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was River Erickson, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Abe Davinroy, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will take on Porter-Gaud at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they will challenge Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Armada their first taste of in-conference action this season.
