The Smith Center Redmen can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Sylvan-Lucas as Smith Center made off with a 63-43 win. Smith Center's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Smith Center can attribute much of their success to Daveyon Orr, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Orr also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Tegan McKenzie, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Smith Center's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith Center is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Sylvan-Lucas and Lincoln will face off without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
