Basketball Recap: Palm Harbor University Skates Past Seminole with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Palm Harbor University on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Seminole Warhawks out of the water with a 73-38 final score. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Kylie Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 21 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brenna Walters, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.

Palm Harbor University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Several Warhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Turknett, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Turknett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Hallock, who put up eight points and three blocks.

Palm Harbor University is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Seminole, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
