Father McGivney Catholic can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-44 win over Maryville Christian. The victory was just what Father McGivney Catholic needed coming off of a 70-36 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Father McGivney Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Jansen, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Jansen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nolan Keller was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Althoff Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 78-33 win over Maryville Christian on the road. The result was nothing new for Althoff Catholic, who have now won three contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Father McGivney Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Althoff Catholic, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
