Basketball Recap: Rolesville Piles Up the Points Against Millbrook

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Rolesville on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Millbrook Wildcats out of the water with a 75-39 final score. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 25 points or more this season.

Rolesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caitlyn Jones out in front who went 9 for 18 to rack up 19 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The contest was Jones' third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahriell Murchison, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points along with seven steals and five assists.

Rolesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Millbrook saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Bardeen went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points. That's the most points Bardeen has posted since back in December of 2024.

Rolesville's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Millbrook, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolesville will face off against Heritage at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolesville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Millbrook, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats challenge the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
