The game between Damonte Ranch and Vanden wasn't particularly close, with Damonte Ranch falling 59-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Damonte Ranch came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in Nevada, while Vanden is ranked 226th in California).
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mya Ghisletta, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Ghisletta scored a full 35.6% of Damonte Ranch's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Garrett, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists.
Damonte Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Vanden, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Damonte Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Manogue at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Manogue is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Vanden, they will head out on the road to face off against Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
