The Founders Classical Academy Archers waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against KIPP Austin Collegiate by a score of 32-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Founders Classical Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.
Founders Classical Academy was led to victory by Adelis Russell and Mary Tavarez. Russell scored 13 points along with 3 steals, while Tavarez dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Tavarez has scored at least 25% of Founders Classical Academy's points.
The win got Founders Classical Academy back to even at 5-5. As for KIPP Austin Collegiate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Founders Classical Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against KIPP Austin Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. KIPP Austin Collegiate's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Founders Classical Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Founders Classical Academy. As for KIPP Austin Collegiate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Founders Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Founders Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
