Meanwhile, Sanger West's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torres. Sanger West has struggled against Torres recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Sunnyside's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Sanger West, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.
Everything went Sunnyside's way against Sanger West when the teams last played back in January as Sunnyside made off with a 72-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sanger West's Angad Doad, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
