FREEPORT, Pa. - A big 28-point second quarter helped carry the Yellowjackets to a 47-0 victory over Summit Academy (Herman, Pa.) on Saturday.
Freeport scored on a touchdown pass by
Brendan Lynch to
Tony Devivo, a touchdown run by
Dustin Koedel, a Lynch touchdown run and a touchdown run by Lynch in the quarter.
The lead that FHS took on a
Mike Teorsky touchdown run with 8:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Lynch played well for the Yellowjackets in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Freeport entered the contest giving up 18.1 points per game this year.
When the two teams played each other last season, FHS came away with a 27-0 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Yellowjackets, which lost to Washington last week, 60-6.
