Carolina Day and Asheville Christian Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Carolina Day Wildcats face off against the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Day is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Carolina Day relied on the efforts of Layla Hunter, who shot 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, and Amy Rhymer, who shot 5-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. Hunter has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. Selah Frisbee was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Asheville Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over High Point Christian Academy on Thursday, taking the game 42-29.
Carolina Day better focus on containing Rebekah Bass and Sara Larios as the pair were huge in Asheville Christian Academy's win. Bass went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Larios posted 13 points and four steals. That's the most points Bass has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Fuchs, who put up seven points and six rebounds.
Carolina Day's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Asheville Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Carolina Day has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 47.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Asheville Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Carolina Day was dealt a bruising 64-37 defeat at the hands of Asheville Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Larios, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 24 points in addition to eight assists and six steals. Now that Carolina Day knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
