Edmonds-Woodway has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Edmonds-Woodway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, Edmonds-Woodway was able to grind out a solid win over Marysville-Pilchuck, taking the game 61-52.
Edmonds-Woodway found their leader in underclassman Dj Karl, who scored 19 points. Karl continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Williams, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 45-39 to Shorecrest. Archbishop Murphy has not had much luck with Shorecrest recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
The losses dropped Edmonds-Woodway to 1-3 and Marysville-Pilchuck to 0-4.
Edmonds-Woodway couldn't quite finish off Archbishop Murphy when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 60-57. Can Edmonds-Woodway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
