Softball Recap: Franklin Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Franklin put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Parkville Knights as Franklin made off with a 19-3 win. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Scarlett Cornwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lanee Houser was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Lindsay Trager was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .632 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Franklin's record now sits at 3-0. As for Parkville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
