West Jersey - Diamond recap December 3, 2013
Schalick's Tyrell Hart recorded the longest rushing play in West Jersey - Diamond this season in his game against Cumberland last week. Hart's team defeated the Colts as he sprinted for 90 yards on the play and finished with 133 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Woodstown beat Salem 19-0. The win marks 11th in a row for the the Wolverines.
Schalick's dynamic duo of John Gallo and Melvin Allen proved tough for Cumberland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gallo threw for 130 yards and 1 touchdown and Allen had 77 yards receiving. Deandre Solomon helped Schalick's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 32 yards.
Semaj Thomas was a passing and rushing force as Woodstown defeated the Rams. Thomas' favorite target this week was Keith Johnson, who caught 3 passes for 42 yards.
Highland Regional's Derin Sweeney and Jamil Jackson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Sweeney has thrown for 1,153 yards this season, while Jackson has 22 catches for 443 yards. Hart from Seth Brown's team leads the league in rushing with 1,105 yards.
Penns Grove's Craig Ransome needs only 49 yards against Glassboro next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Ransome has rushed for 951 yards on 132 carries so far this year.
As it stands, the Red Devils are in second, while the Bulldogs are in fourth.
Penns Grove fell to Pennsville Memorial 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
