Jeremy Burke put up the best numbers through the air as Fowler beat Cripple Creek-Victor. He finished with a total of three completions for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Burke's favorite target this week was Larry Hamilton, who caught two passes for 27 yards.
Vince Valdez was the best wideout in A-8 South - Southern (8 Man) this week as Hoehne topped Manzanola. Valdez racked up three receptions for 65 yards. Wyatt Schrepfer helped Hoehne's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Schrepfer was the most productive running back in the league this week. In two carries, he ran for 120 yards as the Farmers topped the Bobcats. Teammate Tyler Sanchez added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.
Hoehne's Sawyer Schafer and Derrick Cordova have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schafer has thrown for 660 yards this season, while Cordova, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 21 catches for 346 yards. Alan Peil from Manzanola leads the league in rushing with 775 yards.
A big matchup in A-8 South - Southern (8 Man) this week will be when Bob Schafer's team takes on Mark Henson's team. The Farmers are currently in first, while the Lions are in third.
