Glenwood is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pleasant Plains is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tucker Murphy, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Lucas, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Glenwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Pleasant Plains sidestepped Morton for a 10-9 win.
Trager Shultz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Grady Grisham, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Glenwood's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Pleasant Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.
Both Glenwood and Pleasant Plains just can't seem to miss. The Titans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Pleasant Plains struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits.
