Baseball Recap: Huntingdon Wins Going Away Against Bellwood-Antis

Huntingdon barely beat Bellwood-Antis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Huntingdon put the hurt on Bellwood-Antis with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. The Bearcats haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Connor Moore made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Gutshall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Erick Rupert, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Huntingdon back to even at 1-1. As for Bellwood-Antis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Huntingdon will head out to challenge West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Philipsburg-Osceola at 4:30 p.m.
