Belvidere North has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Sycamore Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Belvidere North scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 66-29 victory over Rockford East. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Samantha Adams was a one-man wrecking crew for Belvidere North as she scored 21 points along with three steals. Adams is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Cortlyn Hefty, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sycamore made easy work of Kaneland on Wednesday and carried off a 46-25 win.
Belvidere North's win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-22. As for Sycamore, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.
Belvidere North suffered a grim 53-28 defeat to Sycamore in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Belvidere North was down 31-11.
