The Port Gibson Blue Waves can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 60-56 W over Natchez. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Natchez lost, one person who can't be blamed is RONIYA ELLIS. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was ELLIS's seventh in a row with at least ten points. CALEAH KENNEDY was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Port Gibson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Natchez, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Gibson will be home for the holidays to greet Warren Central at 5:00 a.m. on Friday. Warren Central is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. Natchez will be home for the holidays to greet Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
