Gateway Charter has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Bishop Verot Vikings at TBD on Wednesday. Gateway Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Vikings are ranked 124th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Gateway Charter gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Community School of Naples 64-37 at home.
Gateway Charter's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Katelyn Rosario, who scored 16 points, and Ellie Morin, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosario has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lizy Mendez, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Verot earned a 51-38 victory over the Lightning on Friday.
Gateway Charter's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Bishop Verot, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Gateway Charter came up short against the Vikings when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 39-26. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bishop Verot's Cameron O'halloran, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Now that Gateway Charter knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
