In what's become a running theme this season, the Central Bears gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Crystal River at home to the tune of 81-41. Winning may never get old, but Central sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Joyner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 assists. Joyner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Jeroen "jd" Watson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Central's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Crystal River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wesley Chapel knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 matchups -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge. As for Crystal River, Crystal River and Hudson will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hudson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Crystal River likes a good challenge.
