After a string of three wins, The Northport Tigers''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. Their rough 63-41 defeat to Half Hollow Hills East might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Northport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Half Hollow Hills East is ranked 95th).
When it comes to explaining why Northport lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Campoli. Despite the final result, he rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Giancarlo Valenti also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.
Northport's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Half Hollow Hills East, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Northport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Half Hollow Hills East also has no future games currently scheduled.
