The Marshall Redhawks will face off against the Harper Creek Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Pennfield 25-3 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bella Ryan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Alayna Hayes was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
15 must be Harper Creek's lucky number: they beat Hastings with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Beavers didn't even let the Saxons on the board, marking the Beavers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Saxons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Harper Creek got a massive performance out of Kennedy Halverson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Halverson has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Kline, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Harper Creek's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marshall hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .450. However, it's not like Harper Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Marshall's way against Harper Creek in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as Marshall made off with a 10-4 victory. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
