The Roane County Raiders lost against the Independence Patriots back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Roane County was beaten by Independence 54-21. Roane County has struggled against Independence recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Roane County still got an impressive performance from Cobun Cottrell, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown. Cottrell was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards. Jacob Greathouse also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Independence, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Roane County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Independence will head out on the road to face off against Winfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
