Jenna Brown was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles.
Meanwhile, New Richmond made easy work of Batavia on Monday and carried off a 13-2 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Like Clermont Northeastern, New Richmond also got a great game from a two-way player: Izzie Carroll. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Carroll was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Piper Willis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Rae Hartigan, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
New Richmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
New Richmond pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Clermont Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Clermont Northeastern suffered a grim 18-7 defeat to New Richmond when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
