The Bolton Central Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Johnsburg Central Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Bolton Central sitting on six straight victories and Johnsburg Central on 13.
Bolton Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Boquet Valley. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jace Hubert made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI.
In other pitching news, Liam Foy looked comfortable as he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on John Roemer, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brendon Pagan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bolton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Johnsburg Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Schroon Lake.
Bolton Central's record now sits at 12-2. As for Johnsburg Central, their record is now 13-1.
Bolton Central couldn't quite finish off Johnsburg Central in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 5-3. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
