The Southwest Leadership Academy Rams will head out on the road to take on the Heritage Academy Heroes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest Leadership Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Even though Empower College Prep scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Southwest Leadership Academy still came out on top. Southwest Leadership Academy took their contest against Empower College Prep 68-61.
It was another big night for Serious Sykes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Uriel Poblete, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Glenview College Prep scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Heritage Academy still came out on top. Heritage Academy escaped with a win against Glenview College Prep by the margin of a single free throw, 63-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Heritage Academy.
Heritage Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden Bergman, who scored 24 points. Bergman continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Bryce Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Southwest Leadership Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Heritage Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Southwest Leadership Academy took a serious blow against Heritage Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 72-44. Can Southwest Leadership Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
