Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Lutheran Comes Up Short

Indianapolis Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders 58-31. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Indianapolis Lutheran lost, don't look at Caitlyn Rose. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Rose has posted since back in November of 2023.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Journee Thomas out in front who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Brown, who scored 13 points.

Indianapolis Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 9-9.

Indianapolis Lutheran has already played their next contest, a 53-14 loss against Speedway on the 28th. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-49 victory against Herron on the 27th.
