Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Webb City Cardinals walked away with it. They breezed by Belton on the road to the tune of 71-20. Webb City might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
Webb City found their leader in underclassman Gabe Johnson, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 56 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Omari Jackson, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory (which was Webb City's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Belton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Webb City will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Carthage at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Carthage will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. Belton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
