If The Valley Christian Defenders were feeling good off their 40-13 takedown of the Big Bear Bears last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valley Christian was beaten by Village Christian 45-12 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Valley Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.
Although Valley Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Dylan Teays and Isaiah Jordan.
Village Christian was led to victory by Lucas Lehman and Zavontae Flournoy-Trice. Lehman picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Flournoy-Trice rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Valley Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Village Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Village Christian will head out on the road to face off against Mayfair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mayfair is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
