Lewiston had trouble last week, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they take on Thornton Academy at 7:00 PM. Lewiston are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
Lewiston suffered a grim 0-34 defeat to Oxford Hills/Buckfield.
Meanwhile, Thornton Academy took the contest and then some with a 70-0 win. With Thornton Academy ahead 49-0, the game was all but decided by halftime.
Thornton Academy's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Lewiston's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. We'll see if Thornton Academy's success rolls on or if Lewiston are able to steal their positive momentum.
