Basketball Recap: Blackford Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Blackford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Muncie Central Bearcats by a score of 45-37 on Saturday. This was payback for the Bruins, who suffered a 49-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blackford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adyson Sargent, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Murphy, who scored 17 points.

Blackford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They are 2-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Muncie Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kei'Maija Hickey, who put up 13 points, and Sarai Baldwin, who had 11 points.

Blackford's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Muncie Central, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Blackford will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on December 4. As for Muncie Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-48 victory against Richmond on the 29th.
