BRANDYWINE, Md. - A big 21-point first quarter helped carry the Yellowjackets to a 39-8 victory over Largo (Upper Marlboro, Md.) on Saturday.
Gwynn Park scored on a
Marc Bronson touchdown run, a touchdown run by Bronson and a
Jay Adams touchdown pass to
Xavier Ducksworth in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Bronson touchdown run in the first quarter, GP led 33-8 at the half.
The Brandywine school expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. The Yellowjackets scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run.
With the win Gwynn Park extended its winning streak to six games. GP defeated the Hornets 54-0 last week.
Bronson stood out for the Yellowjackets in the win. He ran for two touchdowns.
The Lions' lone touchdown came on a pass in the second quarter.
Largo came in allowing just 15.8 points per game this season. Gwynn Park had given up an average of 6.1 points prior to the contest.
A 38-6 Gwynn Park victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
Gwynn Park (7-1) will play a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A game against Forestville Military Academy next week, while Largo (5-4) will take on Central also in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A game.
