The Rockwall Yellowjackets had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They breezed by Tyler Legacy at home to the tune of 52-21. The result was nothing new for Rockwall, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Rockwall had a senior duo take command as Mason Marshall rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries and Ashten Emory rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Brendon Ross also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Von Lane, who threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes. Kavion Hall was another key contributor, gaining 108 total yards and a touchdown.
Rockwall has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.11 points. As for Tyler Legacy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Rockwall will face off against Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wylie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Rockwall is ranked 12th). As for Tyler Legacy, they will head out on the road to face off against Wylie East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wylie East's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
