Intersport announced Thursday that University of Oregon signee
Brett Kingma will participate in the National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.
Kingma, a 6-foot-1 guard from
Henry Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Wash., averaged 29.8 points per game as a senior for the 22-4 Timberwolves, including three 40-point performances.
The National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will be held April 1 at the Berry Center in Cypress, Texas. CBS will broadcast the event Sunday, April 3 (4:30-6 p.m. CT) with numerous encore showings on CBS College Sports.
The future Duck will be competing against a field of seven other 3-point specialists, including
Chase Fischer of
Ripley (Ripley, W.Va.). Other participants will be announced in the coming days.
Kingma knocked down 10 3-pointers in a January game against Edmonds-Woodway en route to a season-high 43 points. He was more than just a scoring sensation, however. His Jackson teams went 45-9 over the past two seasons with an appearance in the 2010 Class 4A state championship game.
